Video On Demand
Planet DV has been a broadcast video supplier to the charity sector for many years. In our experience, charities use video technologies for a number of different applications. Technology can be used by charities to support the body of people that the charity represents by developing their skill set or to deliver key messages or alternatively it is often used as a vehicle to promote their charity.
Many charities choose to purchase their video equipment from Planet DV as we are able to pass on significant discounts from some key industry manufacturers such as Adobe, Newtek and Grass Valley. We also offer a discounted pricing structure wherever possible on our other product ranges for charities even when unsupported by the manufacturer. We are committed to supporting our charity clients, our excellent pre-sales advice and keen pricing enables them to procure necessary equipment within limited budgets without compromising on quality or service.
One of our longstanding charity clients is Autism Independent UK.
During the last eighteen months AI UK has purchased a number of editing suites from Planet DV based around Adobe’s Creative Suite with Hewlett Packard mobile and desktop workstations and BlackMagic Design video capture hardware. They use the equipment to produce training videos that are used at their own in-house events and also for making simple animations to help children understand their key messages. The systems are required to be as flexible as possible and to process a vast array of video formats. Autism Independent decided to purchase a laptop version in addition to their original desktop edit suite to enable editing on location. They have since purchased a second workstation and a second mobile solution to support their ever expanding use of video within the charity.
Experience Community in Leeds film the facilities available for deaf and disabled people at popular tourist attractions and publish these online. They recently needed a simple to use and portable HD camera kit and we supplied them with a Panasonic AG-HMC41 camera with XLR microphone adapter and Rode NTG-1 directional microphone. This is a perfect solution for the charity and enables Experience Community to make professional looking videos with good quality audio with ease.
Many charities do not have the benefit of being able to employ professional videographers to carry out their work. Selecting a supplier with high standards of pre and after sales support is therefore a key factor for charities in their procurement process. Planet DV offers a wealth of technical experience and expertise and clearly understands the unique needs of our charity sector clients.
